On 8th September 2026, the partners of the Horizon Europe project LUMINA met at Thales Research & Technology in Palaiseau, France, for the project’s official kick-off meeting. The event marked the start of an ambitious four-year collaboration dedicated to advancing next-generation integrated photonic and plasmonic technologies.
Representatives from all consortium partners met to align on the project vision, objectives, work plan, and roadmap. The meeting provided an opportunity for partners to introduce their organisations, discuss their roles within the project, and establish the foundations for effective collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. Key topics included the technical roadmap, work package activities, project governance, reporting procedures, communication and dissemination activities, and the planning of early project milestones and deliverables.
LUMINA started on 1st September 2026 and will run for 48 months, bringing together leading industrial and academic organisations across Europe to develop innovative photonic technologies and accelerate their path towards real-world applications.
